Anthony Hilliard, a freshman guard/forward on the Elizabeth City State University mens basketball team has been named CIAA Rookie of the Week. In two games last week the Fayetteville, NC native averaged 14 points and 4.5 rebounds. His best performance came in the Vikings 66-61 win over Fayetteville State University where he had 17 points, 4 rebounds and a steal. The 17 points against the Broncos on Saturday night matched his season high which he netted against Claflin University back on January 7th. Amongst the Vikings, he ranks 5th in scoring and 3rd in rebounding and has started every game since December 6th. The Vikings (6-7, CIAA 2-3) will return to action on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 as they travel to take on Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC. Game time is scheduled for 7:30pm.
