February 02, 2006 ESPNU will broadcast the February 9 basketball game between the Elizabeth City State University Vikings and the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls live from the Robert L. Vaughan Center. ECSU Athletics Director, Dr. Edward McLean, is calling on area Viking fans to fill the gymnasium for this broadcast between two promising Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) teams. We are pleased that the CIAA chose ECSU to host one of its televised games for this season, says Dr. Edward McLean. This is wonderful exposure for both Johnson C. Smith and Elizabeth City State and I welcome all our alumni, students and fans to come out and support this event. Im certain both the womens and mens games will be exciting. Fans are encouraged to wear Viking attire such a hats, sweatshirts, T-shirts and more. The Lady Vikings will face the Lady Golden Bulls at 5:30 p.m. before the live broadcast between the two male teams. As of January 31, the Lady Vikings claimed an eight-game winning streak for an 11-6 overall record and 7-1 in the CIAA. During the February 9 game, the Urban Sports and Entertainment Group production team will conduct their annual promotions in anticipation of the 2006 CIAA Tournament in Charlotte, NC. During breaks from the game, fans will compete in a free throw, a slam dunk, a three-point shootout and 3-on-3 basketball game. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com
