Step Afrika performs for ECSU Lyceum Series

February 16, 2006 Elizabeth City State University’s Lyceum Series presents "Step Afrika" at 7 p.m. on February 24 in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center. This dance troupe performs a series of step and dance routines to entertain audiences across the nation. Through their performance, this Washington D.C.-based organization raises awareness of a rhythmic art form that is rooted in African cultural events. That art form, stepping, has most commonly been depicted in America by African-American sororities and fraternities. The Lyceum Series is provided by the university for the community’s cultural enrichment. For more information, please call Ms. Willa Lamb in the ECSU Student Activities Office, 335-3587.
