Laurinburg, NC Native Honored For Performance in Vikings’ Win over Livingstone Kendrell Harley, a senior Defensive Back on the Elizabeth City State University football team, has been named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week as released by the conference office Monday morning. In the Vikings’ 55-8 Homecoming win over Livingstone College on Saturday, Harley had a solid day with 2 solo tackles, a forced fumble, 2 interceptions totaling 63 yards, including one 15 yarder returned for a touchdown and 2 pass breakups. His longest interception return of the day was a 48-yarder in the 2nd quarter which led to a drive where the Vikings scored to push the score to 21-0. A native of Laurinburg, NC, Harley is majoring in Criminal Justice at ECSU. The Vikings (4-4, CIAA 4-1) will return to action on Saturday, October 27th as they travel to Lawrenceville, VA to take on Saint Paul’s College. Game time is scheduled for 1:30pm at Russell Field.
