Welcome to the 2008 Summer Session at Elizabeth City State University. The Summer School Program offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses needed by the greatest number of ECSU students to fulfill their general education and degree requirements. In addition to regular, day-time courses, Summer School includes distance learning and evening courses for undergraduate and graduate school students which will total over 200 summer courses.
This year’s six-week summer session at Elizabeth City State University has a three-fold purpose. First, college students can to take special courses not normally available during the academic year to broaden their academic approach. Second, it serves previously enrolled students in the university who desire to speed the acquisition of their college degrees or to gain additional credits toward completion of their class standings. Third, it incoming freshmen can adapt to the collegiate environment.
The schedule of classes, instructional formats, program designs, faculty and staff office hours have been conveniently established with our students’ best interests in mind. A small student-faculty ratio makes possible for a good classroom environment. To a large extent, the summer session is a projection of the academic year. Regular ECSU professors and an impressive adjunct faculty and staff provide the instruction the course content and academic standards in all courses are the same as in regular semesters.
Summer School registration will take place Monday June 2nd at the K.E. White Graduate Center from 9:30 am and until 7 pm. A full color brochure is available through each department on campus that addresses the calendar, tuition, room and board rates, as well as a preliminary list of courses we intend to offer.
