ECSU Drug Information Center offers free workshop: diabetes management

The ECSU Drug Information Center will offer a free seminar, "Managing Your Diabetes," at 12 p.m. on July 31 at 101 East Ehringhaus Street. Pharmacists will discuss the importance of proper diet and exercise, home monitoring of blood sugar, the common medications prescribed to manage the disease, and the complications of uncontrolled diabetes. The guest presenter is Dr. Nakita Cropper, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy at Elizabeth City State University. As a clinical pharmacist at Bertie University Health Systems, Dr. Cropper provides medication management services to patients with chronic disease particularly diabetes. A free lunch will be provided but registration is required: call the 24 hour appointment line at 252-335-8745. Seating is limited.
