Free computer technology skills workshop held October 4

The Educational Talent Search Program at Elizabeth City State University will hold a free, North Carolina Computer Technology Skills workshop 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 4, 2008 at Creswell High School in Creswell, North Carolina. The Elizabeth City State University’s Educational Talent Search Program will host a FREE North Carolina Computer Technology Skills Workshop at Creswell High School. Breakfast, refreshments, and lunch will be served. Spend your Saturday having fun, winning prizes and preparing for the North Carolina Computer Skills Test. Prizes include calculators, books, gift cards, and jump drives. The North Carolina Computer Technology Skills Test must be taken in the 8th grade. Students must pass this test before graduating from high school. Students must be a members of the Educational Talent Search Program and in grades 6 – 8 to participate. The Educational Talent Search Program is a comprehensive counseling and referral service funded by the United States Department of Education and sponsored by Elizabeth City State University. Educational Talent Search is designed to help participants reach their maximum educational potential by providing them with resources and skills that will enable them: (1) to successfully meet the challenges of the 21st century, (2) to make sound career decisions, and (3) pursue post-secondary opportunities, and rewarding trades and professions.
