Summit welcomes partners in green economy

Elizabeth City State University held the "Communities & Conservation: Partnerships for a Green Economy" summit on March 17. Afterwards, program participants gathered outside a home where renovations are being made to the home to increase energy efficiency. The program participants say they want to hammer home the message that energy efficiency is a goal every resident should pursue. The university is planning several events to continue educating the public on the virtues of energy efficiency. The Community Development Program at ECSU will host some of those events Standing left to right, ECSU Chancellor Willie J. Gilchrist, Majora Carter, a guest speaker and global activist, Dr. Scott Bradshaw, director of the ECSU Center for Research and Evaluation, Sharron Campbell, Dennis Gordon, an Energy Officer with the City of Elizabeth City.
