The university players welcomed 3,000 students and 450 teachers/parents/adults to their winter production, "Goldilocks on Trial." Goldilocks was on trial for breaking and entering. As the audience entered the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center, they wondered if she would be found guilty or sent to prison. Judge Wallabee and some sassy, silly jurors heard testimony from Goldilocks, the bickering Three Bears, surprise witness Merwin the Big Bad Wolf, and others before reaching their conclusion-not guilty.
Ed Monk, the playwright and theatre teacher at Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Virginia wrote the play. He is the author of seventeen plays that have been published by Playscripts, Inc. His plays have been performed in numerous children’s theatres, theatre festivals, and universities. Ms. Billicia Charnelle Hines, directed this production.
