Biology students receive top awards

The Herman Glenn Cooke Department of Biology and Marine Environmental Science at Elizabeth City State University recently distributed awards to students for their superior academic performance. The awards and recipients’ names follow: Clarence E. Biggs Award – Budour N. Mohammad, a senior from South Mills, N. C. This award is reserved for the senior with the highest grade point average. Curtis D. Turnage Award – Ava Boston a junior, from Plymouth, N. C. The award is reserved for the junior with the highest grade point average. Certificate of Merit- Shawnette Toney, a sophomore from Chesapeake, Va. The award is reserved for the sophomore with the highest grade point average. Certificate of Merit – Alexis Barfield, a freshman from Lagrange, N. C. The award is reserved for the freshman with the highest award. Herman G. Cooke award – Budour N. Mohammad, a senior, from South Mills, N. C. This student is reserved for the student researcher with highest grade point average. # # #
