Two earn top biology awards

The Herman G. Cooke Department of Biology awarded Shawnette Toney, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., with the Curtis D. Turnage Award. The award is reserved for a junior majoring biology, who has the highest grade point average. She also received the Herman G. Cooke award which is reserved for a biology research student with the highest grade point average. Another student from that department, not pictured, Fanny Sanchez, earned the Clarence E. Biggs Award. It is reserved for the senior majoring in biology who has the highest grade point average. Sanchez is from Murfreesboro, N.C.
