Social work students earn top awards

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences announced this year’s recipients for its academic achievement awards. The following students received the Social Work Achievement award: Donesha Brothers of Elizabeth City, N.C., Yolanda Davis, of Elizabeth City, N.C, Ny’Niesha Freeman, of Delco, N.C., Quarda Fobbs, of N.C., Jasmine Harvey of Elizabeth City, N.C, Kimberly Robinson, of Rocky Mount, N.C., Teresa Taylor, of Hertford, N.C., The award is reserved for graduating seniors majoring in social work with a minimum 3.2 grade point average. ECSU offers a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Joan Tant, of Currituck, N.C., earned the Social Work Highest GPA (grade point average) award for transfer students. Jennifer Cope, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., earned the Social Work Highest GPA Senior Award for non-transfer students. The department awarded Anitra Hill with the Social Work High Academic Honors award which is reserved for graduating seniors majoring in social work with a minimum 3.75 cumulative grade point average.
